Member-only story
Recruitment specialists on LinkedIn are complaining about people who apply for positions when they don’t meet all the criteria.
I realize that it’s a major task for them to review hundreds of resumes but, I want to ask if they’ve actually ever looked at the job description that they’ve posted.
It’s very sad really. The JDs posted are all-encompassing. No one candidate can ever be a perfect match for them. I don’t know if it’s deliberate; either they want to weed out the less qualified people or they just want overqualified people because they think they can get away with it in today’s job market.
What they need to realize is that the most unlikely of candidates can often surprise them. I’ve never gotten a job because of my CV but I’ve always gotten an offer after an interview. Just something to think about.
