Over the last several weeks, I feel like I’m constantly on the move. In fact, it’s probably been like that for the last several years.

We rarely ever find time to ourselves anymore with the advent of cellphones, and the internet. It’s always time spent in doing something. And that something, always involves distractions.

Why we do busy work

The only thing we know we can do is field messages and emails. I mean email was bad enough and now, we have this constant pinging on the phone that keeps you from ever being able to focus long enough to get anything done effectively.

And the problem is doing these things is easy. It’s often easier to answer a text or write a simple post on Twitter. The immediate response and likes makes is even more alluring. We fall into a false sense of satisfaction making us feel like we’ve achieved something, when in essence we have not.

No one can tame distractions as well as they think
