I love Medium’s new Shortform post option but I’m hoping this isn’t a segue into video content. Social media platforms are gradually becoming homogenous. Instgram launched IGTV to compete with YouTube; Twitter and LinkedIn both launched stories to compete with and Instgram. There used to be a time when each of these platforms had their own unique selling points and none overlapped.
I can completely understand that appeal of video content, particularly among the younger generation. But, for many of us the written word is still sacred. I’ve never been able to switch to video and I can’t see myself doing it anytime soon.
As they say, the movie is never as good as the book.
